Code Club is a network of free volunteer-led after-school coding clubs across the UK for children aged 9-11. Because they’re run entirely by amazing volunteers, they’re free - so kids from nine to 11 can learn how to program regardless of household income. During the clubs, kids learn how to make computer games, animations and websites.
Who is it for? Kids who love to use technology but want to know how it works too.
What should we to know? Code Club is about having fun, getting creative and learning through exploring. Children love their time at Code Club - it doesn't feel like another school lesson! Code Club strengthens problem solving skills and logical thinking, and even helps with school work, supporting science, maths and technology. All Code Club volunteers are vetted and have to have a valid DBS statement and public liability insurance.
Technical Requirements? Schools will need to provide computers with internet access during clubs.
