Question

Would you benefit from an app that helps you determine times your family should be using their devices and times they shouldn't?

i am working on a student project that helps families select periods during the week in which they would prefer not to be using their devices, for example after certain hours or during mealtimes etc. The application would come with a small 'owl' device that sits in the home and 'watches over' your digital time, reflecting when you are interacting appropriately with your device through mood by tilting forward or backwards to show happy and sad and by rocking back and forth when people are using their devices beyond their desired time frames. The idea is that it is a physical presence pulling a persons focus visually from a device in the room to remind the families especially children when they are spending too much time on their devices. The app would allow people to rate their satisfaction with their tech usage and compare it to previous months. Would anyone in particular families find value in this kind of App and product?

What Are The Best Yoga Apps for Children (Ages 4 to 9)?

I'm interested in finding out how to bring yoga into the lives of my two nephews. I'm a Yoga novice but I wonder about Yoga apps that are child friendly but I haven't been able to find anything suitable. Or is it that Yoga is not recommended for children in that age range. I'm a bit out of touch with health recommendations.

Question

Are there any apps to help with grammar?

I've noticed that my children's teachers rarely pick up on basic grammar stuff like misplaced apostrophes, using 'try and' instead of 'try to' and using 'of' instead of 'have'. We've even seen incorrect grammar on school noticeboards, which is abysmal! We try to guide as much as possible, but it's an uphill battle as they're having sloppy grammar reinforced at school. I wondered if there are any apps out there to teach them in a fun way? (They're at primary school).

Has any research been done involving recommending educational apps to parents and potential enhanced school progress?

As a teacher in a nursery school, I find that the majority of our children are competent with games on our iPads and many of them have iPads at home. I am considering undertaking research for my MA education to provide a sample of parents with certain age-appropriate numeracy and literacy based apps and study whether this affects their progress measured against the EYFS development matters statements.
