What health/fitness apps are out there that will help kids understand diet and exercise?
Tech rarely encourages health and fitness, but there are some excellent bits out ther like Nike+ which do. But are there any for kids? I've used Strava but not sure it's "friendly" enough for U16.

A really great app called Work it off! is in the process of being launched (It is currently only available to trial on Android) that looks promising.
The app teaches children how to work off the calories that they consume. So, for instance you type in 'burger' and it will tell you how long you have to run for or how long playing football you need to complete to 'work it off!'
There is more on website http://wio.hfoss.org/ (warning very basic)
I do think that Nike+ is pretty awesome, and although it may not be very child friendly, I still think children will find it cool that they can see stats and maps of runs they complete.
