It's coming to the end of term in some countries. What would make a suitable gift for a teacher?

As a qualified teacher who has taught at lots of different levels of education, my honest answer is that absolutely anything that has shown thoughtfulness and (even sub-conscious) recognition of the effort required to be a good teacher is wonderful.

Anything creative that the child has made is a great gift, especially if it is personalised in some way for the individual teacher.

The greatest gift is to work with my students ! And help their emotional and intellectual growth.

We're making something for each of my daughter's preschool teachers. There are 5 of them, but they've all been involved and so we couldn't leave any out. I've found a lovely quote to build the present around. I hope it works out how I have it in my head (difficult to predict when a 4 year old is involved in the making!)

My youngest has just had a brilliant year with one of the best teachers I've ever met.

No physical gift seemed appropriate to express our gratitude as parents so I wrote a nice thank you letter, expressing how grateful we were and our view of what a great teacher she was.

As Richard says above, I don't think there's anything better than having one's efforts recognised, in any walk of life.
