Should all parents learn first aid?

A new campaign in the UK is urging parents to learn first aid. 'Could you save your child's life?' it asks. That's pretty hard to ignore.

I'm answering my own question here but I really think it's a no brainer, and not just for parents. I took a basic first aid course when I was pregnant with my eldest over 12 years ago, clearly this needs updating.

I've looked at St John's Ambulance courses, and an essentials first aid course for all ages, on a Sunday, locally, is just £25 + vat. Really, there's no excuse. I'm going to book.
