Hi, there is an app called Big Cat Race for Iphone/ipod/ipad by a developer called GenZplay which describes itself as an outdoor fitness app for kids. The basic premise is that you are a competitor in the race and your cartoon avatar competes against the other big cats in the race. You can set it to a certain number of steps or by time and the child literally runs with the device! My advice would be to get a bounceable case for your device!
