Most definitely. I would definitely recommend #PTchat (Wednesdays at 9 Eastern). This chat involves parents (P) and teachers (T) engaging in varying and diverse topics that change weekly. All of the twitter conversations are archived in Storify (http://storify.com/Joe_Mazza). It is moderated by Joe Mazza, an elementary principal in Philadelphia, PA. The chat is live for 1 hour and parents can talk directly to teachers and administrators. Topics, questions, can the like can also be shared later by continuing to use the hashtag.

The hashtag #parentengagement is also quite good - not necessarily synchronous conversations but lots of amazing topics and sharing.
